Hundreds of people attended an open day run by Adult Education Wolverhampton to explore learning opportunities across a range of subjects.
Visitors had the chance to meet tutors, tour facilities and speak with staff about available courses. Digital Skills, Maths, English and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses attracted particularly strong interest.
Support organisations and entertainment
Partner organisations attended to provide information and support, including West Midlands Police, P3, Wolverhampton Voluntary and Community Service and WV Active. A summer craft stall and tombola were also popular with visitors, alongside entertainment from DJ MS L VIBEZ, singer John Martin and the Wolverhampton Pipe Band.
Why adult education matters
Councillor Paula Brookfield, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Skills and Opportunities, said the open days help people explore their next steps, whether to progress in education, change careers, gain employment or improve existing skills.
"Adult Education Wolverhampton is the only provider dedicated solely to adult education in the city," Councillor Brookfield said. "Learning can be life-changing at any age, helping people gain confidence, develop new skills and open doors to employment, further education and personal growth."

Additional open days are planned at Adult Education Wolverhampton's City Learning Quarter at Old Hall Street:
Wednesdays 5, 12 and 19 August from 10am to 3pm; Monday 24 to Friday 28 August from 10am to 3pm; Tuesday 2 September from 10am to 7pm; Wednesday 3 September from 10am to 3pm; and Thursday 4 September from 10am to 3pm.
