Wolverhampton City Council has opened applications for secondary school places for students due to start Year 7 in autumn 2027.

Parents and carers can apply online through the Wolverhampton School Admissions website. The deadline for applications is Saturday 31 October 2026.

How to apply

The online application form is described as quick and easy to complete. Families are encouraged to explore what secondary schools in Wolverhampton have to offer before submitting their application.

All of Wolverhampton's secondary schools will be holding open events so prospective students and their families can visit and see the facilities available. Details about individual school open events are available on the School Admissions website or by contacting schools directly.

Getting support with your application

Free application surgeries are being held at the Civic Centre, St Peter's Square, Wolverhampton, on Thursdays 10 September, 24 September, 15 October and 29 October 2026, from 10am to 2pm. No appointment is necessary.

Councillor Jacqui Coogan, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: "This is one of the most important decisions you can make for your child, so please don't miss the deadline. Ensuring applications are made by the end of October can increase the chances of securing a place at a preferred school."
