Wolverhampton children and young people aged up to 18 can access free physical activity sessions throughout October half term, delivered by the City of Wolverhampton Council, WV Active and Wolves Foundation through the Yo! Active programme.
Care leavers and young people with a disability can also participate up to age 25.
What's on offer this half term
Sessions during the October holiday break include Multisport Mayhem, Nerf Nightmare and a Spooktacular Party.
Year-round, Yo! Active provides free weekly physical activity options including free swimming, gym and court hire, multi-sport sessions, basketball and tailored activities for under fives.
Health and wellbeing benefits
Councillor Obaida Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, said physical activity can improve heart health, build strong bones and muscles, control weight and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. It also offers young people the chance to make new friends.
Current uptake
Over 23,000 children and young people have already signed up to Yo! Active.
Tom Warren, General Manager of Wolves Foundation, said: "We're delighted to continue working with City of Wolverhampton Council to help provide young people across Wolverhampton with access to fun, engaging and positive activities throughout the year. School holidays can be a challenging time for some families, so opportunities like this play an important role in keeping children active, developing confidence and supporting their overall wellbeing."
How to find sessions
The full timetable of Yo! Active sessions is available on the WV Active website.
