Villiers Primary School in Bilston has been commended by Ofsted inspectors following a visit on 10 September. The inspection report highlighted a nurturing environment where children feel safe to learn, play and be themselves.
Inspectors found that pupils achieve well in national assessments and progress rapidly in mathematics, writing and early reading. Disadvantaged pupils' outcomes are significantly above those of their peers nationally.
Behaviour and inclusion
The school's behaviour was described as excellent, with older pupils serving as exemplary role models for younger children. Leaders and staff create an environment that pupils want to be part of, from early years through to the end of Year 6.
Pupils with special educational needs or disabilities progress well. Staff understand the barriers different pupils face and provide highly effective support from the earliest possibility so that they can thrive.
Curriculum and enrichment
The school has established a broad and balanced curriculum. Leaders are passionate about ensuring pupils can access a range of opportunities to support their wider development, with pastoral support described as highly effective.
The early years curriculum prepares children well for the next stage of their learning, with a nurturing environment supporting their development from the start of school.

Under Ofsted's new inspection regime, Villiers Primary was rated at Strong Standard for Attendance and behaviour, Inclusion, and Leadership and governance. It achieved Expected Standard for Achievement, Curriculum and teaching, Early years, and Personal development and well being. The school also meets safeguarding standards.
