Wolverhampton City Council is launching a Christmas appeal to ensure over 400 young people supported by the Reach Leaving Care Team receive a gift on Christmas Day.

The council, acting as Corporate Parent to care leavers across the city, has created an Amazon Wish List in partnership with young people currently in the care system. The list includes gifts ranging from chocolates to wellbeing gift sets.

How to donate

Members of the public, teams and organisations can purchase items from the Amazon Wish List and have them delivered to the Reach Leaving Care Team, who will wrap and distribute the gifts before Christmas.

Alternatively, physical donations of items similar to those on the wish list can be made at The Oasis Hub, 73 to 75 Willenhall Road, WV1 2HW. The collection point is open every Thursday between 1pm and 6pm until 3 December, 2026.

Councillor Jacqui Coogan, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: "Every year we work with colleagues, the public and partners to provide, as their Corporate Parent, our care leavers with something special at Christmas. If you are able to buy a gift from the wishlist, or donate something physically, I know it will be greatly appreciated – not just by the Reach Leaving Care Team but of course by the young people themselves."
