Construction has started on 32 new one and two-bedroom apartments at Heath Town in Wolverhampton. The development is being built by Keon Homes on vacant land where the Duke of York pub once stood.
The apartments will face Wednesfield Road, Tremont Street and Inkerman Street. Ground floor homes will be wheelchair accessible. The development is part of a second phase of regeneration aiming to deliver more than 100 new council homes across five sites in the area.
Earlier Phase Completed
The first phase of the scheme saw 40 new council houses built on Hobgate Road and one site on Tithe Croft, off Chervil Rise.
Heating and Allocation
The new homes will be supplied with heating and hot water through the Heath Town district heating network, which is undergoing significant investment.
Homes will be allocated through a Local Lettings Plan developed with Heath Town Tenants and Residents Association. The plan prioritises existing council tenants with local connections to the area.
