Wolverhampton City Council will carry out resurfacing and relining work on the Stafford Road and Three Tuns Lane island from Wednesday 19 August to Friday 21 August.
The island will be closed between 7pm and 5am only during those three nights, with signed diversions in place for traffic.
Part of wider highways investment
The work is part of a £10 million planned highways programme approved by the council's cabinet earlier this year and being rolled out across Wolverhampton.
Councillor Bhupinder Gakhal, Cabinet Member for City Transport, said the resurfacing will "ensure safer, smoother journeys for thousands of people who use the key route into Wolverhampton daily."
He added that keeping the route in good condition is vital for residents, businesses and everyone who travels through the city.
Recent completed work
The council has already finished resurfacing work on Chapel Ash island and Ring Road St Georges, along with many other routes in recent weeks.
Councillor Gakhal said the investment in planned preventative maintenance helps stop roads deteriorating further, reducing the need for urgent pothole repairs in future and keeping the road network in the best possible condition.
