A free community event celebrating Wolverhampton's creative talent will take place in Market Square on Friday 14 August from 11am to 6pm. Smithgate Social will feature live art, music, food and family-friendly activities, organised by Solid Ground on behalf of delivery partners ECF and City of Wolverhampton Council.

Live Art and Community Involvement

Artists curated by High Vis Festival will live paint sections of the Smithgate hoarding throughout the day, creating a lasting piece of public art. Young people from the neighbouring The Way Youth Zone will participate in hands-on workshops, helping to shape the final artwork and contribute to the future of the city centre.

Music, Food and Activities

Local musicians and DJs curated by High Vis Festival and The Way will perform at the event, providing a platform for emerging talent from across Wolverhampton. Street food operators will serve food and refreshments throughout the day. Children's craft activities and relaxed seating areas will create a welcoming environment for families and visitors.
