A two-day strike by West Midlands Railway staff has been suspended after further talks between the company and the TSSA trade union.
Members were scheduled to walk out on Friday and Saturday in a dispute over rest day working payments. The action would have caused significant disruption across the region, including Wolverhampton, Birmingham, the Black Country, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire.
Which services were affected
Reduced timetables had been planned for the Cross City line running from Lichfield Trent Valley to Redditch and Bromsgrove, the Wolverhampton to Walsall route, and the Rugeley Trent Valley to Birmingham International line.
All routes via Birmingham Snow Hill, the Camp Hill line, Nuneaton to Leamington Spa, and the Birmingham New Street to Hereford and Shrewsbury services were also set to be affected.
Strike suspended
West Midlands Railway confirmed that following the talks, the strike has been suspended and a full service with a normal timetable will operate.
Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at West Midlands Railway, said the company was "pleased" at the suspension as it would have been disruptive for customers.
Previous action
Strike action by TSSA members went ahead earlier in the month on 11 and 12 July. Members also walked out on 22 and 23 May.
