Wolverhampton City Council is inviting residents, businesses and stakeholders to shape a new regeneration blueprint for the city centre through public consultation. The 'Our Future City Centre Plan' will remain open for feedback until Friday 14 August.
The council will use the consultation responses to develop a detailed plan that will act as a live framework, updated annually to reflect market conditions, opportunities and new regeneration projects.
Key priorities
The plan identifies five main areas of focus: greener public spaces, improved connectivity, high-quality housing with associated health and education infrastructure, dynamic retail and leisure offerings, and design excellence.
Council vision
Councillor Stephen Simkins, City of Wolverhampton Council Leader, said the consultation is an important step in ensuring the plan reflects community needs and supports growth and investment priorities.
"Our Future City Centre Plan is more than just a vision for physical transformation, it is a blueprint for how we will create a city centre that is vibrant, inclusive, and fit for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century," he said.
The council aims to develop a city centre that attracts investment, supports businesses, celebrates creativity and enhances quality of life for residents, workers, students and visitors.
