Wolverhampton City Council has handed over 17 new homes to residents at Waveney Gardens, a development off Oakley Road in Penn. The scheme includes 2 one-bedroom bungalows, 2 two-bedroom bungalows, 4 two-bedroom houses, and 9 three-bedroom houses.
The homes have been built by developer Morro Partnerships Limited using modern timber frame construction and sustainable building methods. Each property has a high energy efficiency rating and is equipped with air source heat pumps and solar panels with battery storage, designed to help residents reduce energy costs.
Funding and Council Support
The development was supported by a contribution of just over £1 million from Homes England. The council's housing development team led the project from conception through to completion.
Resident Feedback
Lucy Whetton, a new resident at Waveney Gardens, said she had been living in a two-bedroom flat and desperately needed more space for her two children. "The children love it and I now have my own space and my daughter's not in with me anymore. It's very safe around here and the kids like playing outside," she said.

The Penn development forms part of the council's ongoing housebuilding programme to increase the number of modern, affordable homes available across Wolverhampton.
