Wolverhampton City Council is hosting its second Healthy Ageing Festival on Monday 19 October at Fifth Avenue Community Centre, Low Hill. The event runs from 10am to 4pm and is free to attend. Entry is drop-in — visitors can arrive at any time during the day — and refreshments will be provided.

The festival is organised by the City of Wolverhampton Council, Healthwatch Wolverhampton and the OneWolverhampton partnership. It follows a successful inaugural event held in March.

What services will be available

Representatives from several organisations will be present to speak with visitors about staying active and accessing support. These include the council's WV Active and social care teams, Wolves Foundation, Health, Healthwatch Wolverhampton, and Global Diabetes.

Councillor Obaida Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, said: "Next week's Healthy Living Festival follows on from a successful inaugural event in March, and will once again bring together a variety of services offering valuable information for our older residents and people using our Adult Social Care services."

Councillor Linda Leach, Cabinet Member for Adults, added: "This is a great opportunity for people to learn about the resources which are available to enhance their quality of life, and I would encourage residents to come along to find out more."
