Wolverhampton's library service is launching the Summer Reading Challenge, a free programme designed to encourage children to keep reading throughout the summer holidays.
Created by The Reading Agency and delivered in partnership with public libraries, the challenge offers activities, competitions, and incentives for young readers. Participants who complete the challenge will receive a certificate and medal.
Read to the Beat theme
This year's theme is called Read to the Beat and is powered by Universal Music Group UK. The theme celebrates music and its power to move, inspire, and connect people through reading. The challenge is illustrated by award-winning author and illustrator Harry Woodgate.
What's on offer
Wolverhampton's libraries will host dozens of free activities over the coming weeks as part of the programme.

Whether it's embarking on a great adventure, meeting unforgettable characters, or discovering new ideas, reading can spark a lifelong love of learning and imagination. The Summer Reading Challenge is a wonderful way to encourage children to experience that magic for themselves while having fun, building confidence, and enjoying everything our libraries have to offer."
